Tragedy as fire claims lives of three family members in Tongaren

Residents of Brigadier Market in Tongaren Constituency, Bungoma County, are mourning after a fire that broke out late Tuesday night claimed the lives of three members of one family.
The incident, whose cause is still under investigation, razed the family’s house to the ground, leaving the community in deep shock and sorrow.

The deceased have been identified as David Busuru, his wife Nancy Busuru, and their grandson. Relatives say the tragedy has left them shattered and struggling to accept the loss.

“This loss is beyond words. It’s devastating to lose three family members at once,” said James Wanjala, a representative of the bereaved family.

Soysambu Mitua Division Commissioner Solomon Nginai confirmed the tragedy and said the bodies had been transferred to Wamalwa Kijana Hospital mortuary in Trans Nzoia County.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have begun investigations to uncover what sparked the blaze.
